sailing comes in three kinds
costly: expensive
and out of sight
and uses a special vocabulary
to keep you awake at night
a rope is a sheet
and a sheet's not a sail
and sides are starboard and port
And 'shiver me timbers' is what you say
when your hand in the tackle gets caught
sailing a sailboard is easy
like falling out of bed
till you get pitched off and coming back up
the mast comes down on your head
next size up is a laser
or perhaps a catamaran
till the wind gets up and tests your skill
if none, you do what you can
bigger boats are more stable
gliding majestic upon the sea
You can weather a storm
or hide in the cabin
but be careful you don't lose your tea. |
